About The Master
Master Welcher, 10th Dan
Master Welcher was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he completed his primary and high school education. From 1982 to 1988, he pursued legal studies at the University of Buenos Aires.
His dedication to the martial arts began at the age of 14, and he has since devoted 53 years to the practice of Shorin-Ryū karate. Prior to relocating to Israel, Master Welcher served as a karate instructor in Buenos Aires for a significant period. His extensive teaching career spans 49 years, encompassing karate, kobu-do, and self-defense disciplines.
Master Welcher developed a unique blend of self-defense techniques during his tenure as Senior Self-Defense Instructor of the School of Israeli Marine Cadets, which he calls Krav Hagana. He perfected the method working at the school of Israeli Police Cadets. Krav Hagana can be translated as “combat of defense”. It utilizes simple, memorable techniques to transform students’ perception when facing an adversary. The system distills the essence of defensive moves from many martial arts programs, in a form that can be easily absorbed and used by anyone.

Back in 2011, life took me away from the USA to Canada, and I had to put some big dreams and projects on hold. But those dreams have always been with me, and now at 67, I'm excited to finally make them happen!
This really cool project is all about bringing together Karate, Martial Arts, and our National Team. What's new and exciting is that we'll be inviting world-champion instructors from other countries to train with our team.
They'll share their amazing experience to help take American karate and martial arts to the next level. I truly believe in my approach to training – the techniques, the way I teach, and how I motivate people.

It really worked wonders with the Canadian National Karate Team. We basically started from the ground up, and in just five years, we achieved some incredible things: one world champion, six world silver medals, and a total of eighteen medals in major international competitions.
If you'd like to get a better sense of what this project is all about and how Karate and Martial Arts can make a real difference in our lives and communities, I'd love for you to check out my book, "Success in Your Hands."
Warmly,
Master Welcher
